BSIT 220 - T301 Week 10 Blog

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to Week 10, and the final week of this summer's classes. This week we are answering a few questions that we were asked about this course. So, lets wrap it up!  I found this course very enjoyable and very informative. I work as a Site IT Technician for Michelin. In my profession we do a lot of networking and networking troubleshooting. This course has helped me gain a better understanding of some basic and advanced troubleshooting tips that will help me in my job.  I do not think I will continue blogging, its just not something that I find very fun to do. It is hard for me to, I guess, talk to people but talk to myself at the same time.  I wrote this in my other class for this question and I believe it fits here too. I don't think that a company would find this desirable because words on paper are just that, words on paper. I think that if you cant put what you write on paper to what you deal with in the real world, its only words and it...

BSIT 200 - T301 Week 10 Blog

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Week 10 and the final week of our summer classes, so lets wrap things up! Something I found enjoyable about this course was brushing up on a lot of information that it haven't done in a long time and also learning more about those darn printers. There wasn't anything that I can think of that was something that I did not find enjoyable during these past 10 weeks.  My current job is a Site IT Technician at Michelin. While some of the information that we went over wasn't really in what I do in my profession, it did help me get back to the basics of things.  I am not sure if I would continue blogging about things in my life. I am not the one to try and write about the things that go on. I guess that was a little bit of the struggle for me this semester.  I am not sure as well if this would be desirable for a company or "give me more weapons in my arsenal". People can write anything on paper, but if they can't transfer what the write on ...

Some of these threats are: Spoofing - pretending to be someone or something you are not by placing false information into your packets.      Packet/protocol abuse - the misuse of network protocols and packets to achieve unauthorized outcomes Zero-day attack - an exploit that takes advantage of a previously unknown vulnerability in software or hardware that has not yet been patched. Term Zero-day refers to that the attack happens on or before the first day the vulnerability is discovered or reported. BSIT 200 - T301 Week 9 Blog

Hello again! Welcome to Week 9 of Computer Hardware and Software Management. This week, one of the things we talked about was connecting to the internet and the various ways to do so. Lets break down some of the ways that we can do this: Wi-Fi : Wireless networking using radio signals to connect devices to a network. Common in homes, businesses, and public spaces. Ethernet : A wired connection using cables to connect devices to a network. Known for stable and high-speed connections. Mobile Data : Internet access through cellular networks (3G, 4G, 5G). Useful for on-the-go connectivity with smartphones and tablets. DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) : Internet over standard telephone lines. Offers a reliable connection, though speeds can vary. Cable Internet : Provides internet through cable TV lines. Often faster than DSL but depends on the cable provider’s infrastructure. Fiber Optic : Uses light signals transmitted through fiber-optic cables. Known for very high speeds and reliabilit...
